Postcards from Osu

A formal arrangement in partial decay. Some chairs remain upright; others have given way.

A similar setting, more deteriorated. The table is intact, but the room around it is fading.

These images were taken at Osu Castle in Accra, Ghana—a coastal fort built in the 1660s by the Danes and later used by the British colonial administration. The castle once held enslaved people before their forced departure, and later hosted governors and foreign dignitaries.

Here, I’ve photographed two dining rooms—both in visible decline. The tables, once symbols of power and ceremony, now sit in silence, surrounded by crumbling walls, their grandeur reduced to traces.
